Channeled Personal Mandala Drawings

Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning circle, or center. This will not be your typical Mandala, you may not have circles, but it will definitely reveal your center at this time. I will connect with your energy until I see your essence in pictures and designs, sometimes I’m just full of your essence. Then I channel this energy/essence onto paper with pencil.

I suggest you have this drawing copied, then use them as a meditation tool, coloring them with crayons, markers, ink, whatever medium you are drawn to. I am available Friday afternoons or by appointment.

Henna (Mehndi) Tattoos

The beautiful art of mehndi began 5,000 years ago in India, Africa, and the Middle East. It was used in rituals and ceremonies to bring luck and ward against evil. Henna was part of a way of life, religious as well as the everyday. Today in America many use it as a way of art; a chance to decorate ourselves in a non-permanent way. It is a form of expression, painless and lovely.

Henna was done with the belief that the act of application would create good fortune, happy results, and good feelings. Henna was known for its power to protect, to bring luck, and to provide material as well as spiritual wealth. In general, henna is thought of as a lucky charm or blessing. It wards off the evil eye, guards against black magic, harmful genies, and all other dangerous supernatural forces or entities. Its positive and evil-stopping powers gave birth to the ancient Arab proverb, “If I do not speak the truth, I will not present my hand for henna.”

This beautiful and spiritual art form has gained much popularity in the last decade. Many find the practice uplifting and gratifying. Talk to the staff at the Higher Self Bookstore if you would like more information on this practice. We have lost many of our traditions. In a way, we are all looking to find replacements. This lovely tradition is one we can adopt to be more fulfilled in our daily lives.
