How exciting to start the new year of with a blue moon and an eclipse.  Throw in a little mercury retrograde to the mix and see what happens.  Sometimes the energy is so strong I don't know if I'm coming or going.  Whew!  Take about the powers lining up with all the heavenly help they can muster to guide us to our highest potential.  It seems as every little thought is manifesting quickly so be careful what you are focused on.

 

I have seen some amazing sights with the moon this month.  Sometimes it feels like you could almost reach out and touch it.  The shadows it casts from the trees onto the snow have been truly beautiful.  My grandson would call this a miracle.  I agree.  If we pay attention, everything we sense can be a miracle.  What a wonderful way to look at your world, with fresh eyes.  Hold on  to those dreams and know that the universe will always say YES!  What are your intentions for this glorious New Year?

The Rune for January is: Berkana: Growth

 

2010 begins with Berkana... The rune of growth! And what a wonderful way to begin a new year and a new decade! And yes, I know that Mercury is retrograde but  I believe that the energies of this particular astrological setup is to encourage us to meditate and get to know our Inner Being better... Wonderful work for winter!

And growth... That is what our Souls came to this planet and this dimension to create! We are now less than 3 years from that amazing moment when our world will transit the Galactic Center for the first time in our recorded history. This means that no one knows for certain what will happen or if anything will change... But in the meantime, we have 3 years to contemplate the possibilities and impact our reality... And this is growth.

So, do you want to grow toward the fear of 'the end of the world' that 12/20/2012 dramatists are trying to sell or would you, perhaps, prefer to grow toward manifesting your sweetest dreams? Yes, you get to choose... And your thoughts blended with your emotions are the tools which will make that choice.

We of the rock kingdom joyfully watched as you went about your holiday hunting and gathering.  Some of you were extremely entertaining; you should have seen some of the antics of our cousin (Kafi, the Rock Diva).  Some of us truly feel that the only reason she and those foolish enough to get close to her survived this season was owed to how much she used and carried the rock of the month. SELENITE.   That heavenly stone kept her calm in long cold lines at toy stores.  It kept her mind clear and focused enough to miss the worst traffic and maneuver the many snow storms. Pieces carried in her car kept sliding around having fun instead of being fearful.  Holding a piece in her hand helped her to feel safe and connected to the angels when her car locked her out in the cold sleety rain.  And it certainly helped convince her of its ability to amplify mind talk when her cell phone died.

Blessings for the New Year…and what a way to start 2010….Thursday, December 31, 2009, at 3:14 p.m. in the Eastern Time Zone, there was be a full Moon in Capricorn.  We will also experience a Blue Moon partial Lunar Eclipse on that New Year’s Eve of 2010.  What does that mean to you individually and to all of us as the humanity of man?  First a brief ‘lecture’ on the astrological terminology. 

The Full Moon is a rotational phase of the moon when the Moon is on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun.  When viewed from the Earth, the Moon appears as a luminous solid disc of Light.

Blue Moon:  There are twelve full moons yearly which occur in each Zodiac sign (i.e. Aries; Taurus; Gemini, etc.).  These twelve full moons fall approximately in our calendar months.  However, there are 11 extra days compared to the Lunar year.  Therefore, occasionally there is an extra full Moon in a calendar month.  The second full Moon in any calendar month is considered a Blue Moon.  First full moon of this month was December 2.   The second full moon was December 31. 

Lunar Eclipse:  The Moon’s rotation around the Earth causes it to pass through the Earth’s shadow causing the Earth’s shadow to block the Sun’s rays from illuminating the Moon.  This occurs when the alignment of the Sun, Earth, and Moon are exact or nearly exact with the Earth in the middle.  If it is the umbra shadow of the Earth (smaller, darker Earth shadow), it is a partial or total Lunar Eclipse.  If the Moon passes through the wider not as dark penumbra shadow, it is a penumbral Lunar eclipse, producing only a subtle darkening of the Moon.

December 31 was a partial Lunar eclipse with only the tip of the Moon passing through the umbra shadow of the Earth.  Much as in a sunset, the atmosphere of the Earth tends to scatter light thereby causing the illumination of the Moon by this refracted light to have a red hue.  When the Moon is in total Lunar eclipse and this refracted light is total…the Moon will take on this red hue.  The next total Lunar eclipse is December 21, 2010. 

The partial Lunar eclipse on December 31 was not visible from the Americas, however, energy knows neither time nor distance.  Therefore, even though our physical eyes could not ‘see’ this event, the energy affects our energy bodies wherever we are on the Earth planet. 

In Astrology, man has known for thousands of years that the movement of the bright lights in the night skies affects us here on Earth.  These moving lights we know as the planets and the star constellations.  It is the study of Astrology then that can give us information and definition of how this energy of the planets and star constellations will affect our daily lives.

Astrology is both a science and an art form.  The science is the mathematical equations that give us the placement of the planets and star constellations at any given time.  The art form is the interpretation of the characteristics of these planets and star constellations in their placement in the solar system.  This is what we will be learning in our Esoteric Astrology 101.

The Full Moon in Capricorn on December 31, 2009 which produced a Blue Moon Lunar Eclipse then is very significant to our daily lives.  How did this event affect us? 

The Full Moon is a time of releasing old emotional issues.  As the Moon’s energy is feminine, receptive, and emotional, we find our emotions very tied to the Moon phases.  During the Moon’s zenith with its Light as complete and full ….so are our emotions.  We experience extreme emotions during a full moon.  It is a time to release those emotions back to that energy of the Moon…that feminine, receptive energy.  The Moon Goddess receives our outdated emotions that no longer serve us.  We must ask that the energy be restored and returned to us as positive, useful energy. 

In December, we were given the opportunity twice to release our old issues and move forward…the Universal Beings granting us a reprieve before the beginning of a new year.  Did you take advantage of this?  It’s not too late to perform your releasing ceremony.  The energy of the full moon begins several days before and last several days after a full moon. 

The ceremony is simple.  Collect the four basic elements:  fire, earth, air, water.  The element of fire can be a candle burning on your altar (the astrological fire signs are Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius); earth can be earth you have collected from a sacred site or merely earth taken from your garden and sprinkled on your altar (the astrological earth signs are Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn); of course the air is always present but you might want to represent it with a symbol that to you represents the element of air (the astrological air signs are Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius);  water can merely be a pitcher of water upon your altar (the astrological water signs are Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces).  There… now you’ve built your Moon altar and learned about the elements of the astrological signs.  Now you are ready to release your old, outdated emotions that no longer serve you.  Do this through meditation or write them on pieces of paper and then burn the paper in a safe ritual of release. 

When releasing your emotions during this full moon in Capricorn be aware of the characteristics of Capricorn…those societal structures that keep you restricted in your growth.  Those emotions formed from childhood that have taught you to be a follower of laws.  Many of the laws are good and must be in place for the development of our Earth.  However, be sure the laws/rules are appropriate to you and your life.  Capricorn is a cardinal sign of leadership.  Dare to take the lead and use the energy of Capricorn to attain that which you desire in your emotional life.   Step to the front of the line and be a leader with your emotional energy body….reach out and assist others in their emotional needs.

A lunar eclipse is an open window of opportunity to the Soul.  This is a direct alignment to our Soul with this energy of Capricorn.  Capricorn is the builder of the Zodiac…build your foundations on the spark of God energy that indwells in each one of us….your Soul.  Create a practical and disciplined connection between your personality and your Soul.  Create a dialogue with your Soul to work out your salvation in this earth incarnation that you are experiencing.  Listen to that inner voice…it’s quiet and subtle.

On January 15, 2010, the Moon will be in its New Moon phase.  A New Moon is created when in the Moon’s monthly orbit around the Earth; it is between the Sun and Earth.  Thereby, causing the ‘dark side’ of the Moon to face Earth making the Moon seem invisible to those of us on the Earth looking with our naked eyes.  We actually ‘see’ the dark side of the Moon but because we do not ‘see’ the luminous disc that we are accustomed to…we believe the Moon is invisible.  The New Moon phase is your time to ‘plant’ new desires.  Use the same ritual as above only instead of releasing…plant your emotional desires and watch them manifest. 

In Esoteric Astrology, it is believed to be more beneficial if we meditate from the new moon phase to the full moon phase.  The first half of the lunar cycle is one of strengthening and growth.  The second half or the full moon phase is one of integration and release.  Keeping this in mind with your meditations, inspire your emotional balancing in the new moon phase and listen for the results in the full moon phase.

This is my holiday gift for you, wishing you a wonderful, prosperous 2010! Someone asked me to think of the perfect gift I'd like to receive and my response was "that one thing that keeps me from manifesting, experiencing, allowing and receiving prosperity into my life."

So, how can I give this to you? I'm not sure but I do have an observation that just may be the trick for some of you. I know the application of this gift is already making a difference in my state of affluence.

For the last couple months I have been noticing the phrase "I can't afford it", being used by myself, my employees, customers, friends and family. It became like a red flag, demanding I pay attention.
