The Meaning of Om I have been asked a few times what is the significance of the funny looking 30 (thirty). For me it is a reminder of oneness and peace. According to the Yajur-Veda, one of the earliest sacred texts of yoga tradition, Omrepresents the entire universe – past, present and future. The sound is actually a combination of four parts: a (“ah”), or wakefulness; u (“oh”), the dream state; m (“mmm”), the quietness of deep dreamless sleep; and the silence that follows, which represents pure consciousness. The vibrations of Omhelp settle the mind in a profound way. Use it whenever you need a quick infusion of calm.
The holidays are quickly approaching and there seems to be a little bit of magic in the air. I love this time of year. Finding the perfect gift, wrapping it with love, spending time with those we love. Remembering to take the time to Omalong the way.

Are "Hardships" a Bad Thing?
Many people in our country are feeling the strain of different aspects of different structures seemingly on the brink of collapsing. But when some people look around they see prosperity, joy, opportunity and growth instead of stress. Are those people in some form of denial or are they seeing something that the masses do not? My understanding is that our perceptions create the world, literally...and if you are not one of those people who see opportunity instead of stress, I ask you to consider this: Many great changes and strides are created only after the collapse of a failing structure. If a structure is set in place from a place of negativity (often looking like greed or fear), and the energies begin to shift to a higher vibrating energy, those structures are no longer supported and begin to fail. Are the "hardships" that this country is experiencing a bad thing after all? Maybe not. Keep in mind the "like attracts like" principle, because the basic application holds true no matter what the circumstance. Does that make your financial strain more bearable? Probably not immediately, but it can if you take it to greater depths. Is it possible that the people who are experiencing opportunity and even expansion during this time see themselves differently than those who do not? Look at the minds of people who tend to see only opportunity...you'll probably see many signs of abundance in their thinking. They are no better than someone who is struggling, are they? No. They are not better, yet they display something different. They may not even have any spiritual drive or expression, but their default in their consciousness is clearly not lack. Yes, this is a general analogy, I realize. And some people who experience abundance do so at the "expense of others", but those are not the people I am referring to here. Being present is a gift. But what does that really mean? To be present with your circumstance does not mean dwell in fear, but to be present with your essence, as well as your Creator. Many people shift their consciousness because of a challenge or struggle, so if you are experiencing such a thing, try to find the opportunity to become more present. Maybe the challenge you face is to help you find greater appreciation for what is, or even to shift your focus on what your true motivations are. As said in the movie Star Wars, "search your feelings", LOL. Get back to the basics of using extra time if you now have it to be with the people you love...watch some comedy and laugh a little. Start a creative project to get your juices flowing and to help you connect to your Source. If you haven't prayed in a while, give it a shot...talk to God. She is listening and helping each of us get back to our joy as we realize our true essence.

Since Kafi is strolling the streets of England I get to choose the stone this month. I love to play with the stones and get a kick out of helping people find the right one for them. Trusting your intuition and seeing what you are attracted to is the first step. You will always be drawn to exactly what you need in the moment.
Imperial (Golden) Topaz came into our store a few months ago. I was drawn to it right away and haven’t taken it off since. The first eight pieces were bought up immediately by employees. (Sorry, we saw them first.) This is a powerful stone for manifestation of personal intention, wills and desires. It is a carrier of the Gold/Pink ray of the Christ consciousness. We did get more in.
Celestite is a beautiful light blue stone which offers a gentle, uplifting energy. It is one of the most effective stones for accessing the angelic realm and can facilitate communication between oneself and one’s guardian angels. It is one of those stones that holds your gaze.
Tibetan Black Quartz Crystals are among the most powerful stones of spiritual protection ever found. Carrying or wearing one creates a “bubble of Light” around the body, allowing only positive vibrations to penetrate the auric field.

Bhairavi: Duality and a Choice Beyond It
What Goddess has Her hand in the pot stirring it up this month? Bhairavi is the aspect of Mother Kali, Hindu Mother of the Universe, that is the tendency in each of us to destroy our spiritual life by making poor decisions. Right now, Bhairavi weaves this spell over us with music and lighting and an underlying ideology that suggests this to be the “season to be jolly” or that this should be the “season of giving.” We drown ourselves in food, alcohol and shopping because we don’t really feel jolly or giving in the first place. We do it to take away the pain of the financial losses of the stock market, true dysfunction in our families and the pain around how things are not as we hoped for them to be. Bhairavi tells us this “sucks” and then offers us the choice to be “positive.” Wait a moment though and you will hear Her third option: transcendence.
*Devi Bhairavi reveals to us the distinctions present in the pairs of opposites in our experience right now. She shows us choice, in other words, but not just choice between the pairs. Bhairavi offers us a third choice: the redemption of transcending good and bad. Her Teaching is rootsy and non-compromising. Look out, now! She is ruthless, but if one really gets Her Teaching of transcendence, one may find herself in alignment with the Mother of the Universe!
Okay, so how do you do this? Practice in a real life situation: (And so many will present themselves to us during this Holiday Season!) I am sitting at the table with my Grandfather who has advanced dementia. I am listening to him tell me some non-sensical story (to me) and I watch myself try to get him to talk about something that makes sense (to me). I feel afraid and sad. I want him to be who I remember him to be and want him to remember me. But that is NOT what IS. I stop myself and sit patiently with his stories and look into his eyes and just love him. The discomfort comes in waves and soon the tears are flowing from my eyes. I get up to cross the room and stand over the stove letting them flow as I pray to be present with the discomfort. It is intense and I want to escape. I have tried to change to escape and I have sat trying to be patient. Now, it’s just me and Bhairavi. She fills me up and, the discomfort being met, I am observing that the energy has dissolved into love. I turn and observe the situation with my Grandfather. I observe my own feelings and thoughts around what is occurring and the love remains.
I call on Bhairavi several times before my visit is through, practicing this transcendence over and over. I ask Her to reveal this Awareness and Wisdom to me in all other areas of my life. Hard to let go of my cherished dysfunctions, yet freeing it is to do so.
As for you, I pray Bhairavi reveals to you at least one or two places where you are not just being with what is, where you are trying to escape this “season’s greetings.” I hope that when you notice that habit you become inspired to observe. I pray that the Grace of Bhairavi’s transcendence be with you, lovies.

Recently I was going out and decided to wear this old blue shirt I have that has a pink embroidered angel with the words Mom and Angel. As I put it on I decided to add two small lapel pins I have. They are both the size of a dime, one is an angel the other is a butterfly. Whenever I wear this outfit and pins it reminds me that we are all in transformation. Just like the butterfly that starts out as caterpillar and becomes an object with wings that is beautiful and the angel that reminds me to be the best that I can be. We are all here on a journey. Each experience that we have, good and bad, helps us to develop our capacity to learn Love.
Have you ever read Neale Donald Walsch’s book The Little Soul and the Sun? It’s the story of an angel who is coming down to earth to experience life and needs another soul to help him do that. So as I go along with my life and meet people who are angry, mean, and distrustful I have to remember they are here for me to experience life. I must remember to open up my heart and step back so I can see their wings.
This coming holiday season, I hope you will give thanks for your Life. That you will see angels all around you and know you can get past your fears. You are still transforming into that beautiful butterfly. Bust out and spread you wings.
My wish for this coming year is that we all learn to accept each other so we can all live in Peace. That when we meet a stranger, we find a friend.
Your joy will bring joy to those you meet. Remember to Smile, Hug and Bless everyone.
