Change Happens!!
One thing I know for sure is that change happens. Sometimes it is welcomed and some times you feel like you been blindsided. How you react to it makes all the difference. Do you welcome it or throw yourself on the floor kicking and screaming? I know you could say it depends on the circumstance, but does it really? Change is happening all the time. Is it a good thing or bad thing? Can we make change happen? Absolutely. Change happens first with our thoughts. Our actions follow our thoughts. Notice your reaction the next time you go to your favorite store and they have moved your favorite incense again. Do you go on a treasure hunt? Do you ask for help? Do you get frustrated and leave? Get use to change because it will always happen. Choose how you react. Ask for assistance if you need it. There is always someone willing to lend a hand. We are all feeling the affects of this shift coming into the new energies. Embrace it, love it and go with the flow.
There have been a lot of changes at the Higher Self in the past few months and everything is shifting into high gear. The energy in the store feels great. Displays have been shifted and changed. CAM Report says in the June 2008, volume 31, number 16 newsletter. I would suggest a few things to all of you out there worrying over health, wellness, etc...
First, take responsibility, brothers and sisters. If you are eating potato chips in front of the TV, smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol, caffeine or soda pop, and in general lead a sedentary lifestyle...or any combination of the above, may I suggest trying something different?
We've all heard it. We all know what is and isn't bad for us. We all know what we should be doing. But cut that nasty little word out, shall we? You know the one...should. YUCK.
How about, it's not about what the doctors want for you, or what your parents want for you, or your girlfriend, or your lover, or the hotties on the beach, or whomever...how about, it's what you want for yourself. How about, it's a way to love yourself and a way to practice wellness. It is a way to prevent illness and dis-ease. That is taking responsibility.
You don't have to believe everything your doctor says. You could research human biology, anatomy and physiology, alternative medicine, etc... You could seek out other solutions to your depression, your over weight body, your cancer, your diabetes, your whatever.
It is so much easier to allow other people to make decisions for us. We don't even care if they are really in our best interest just so long as we don't have to think about it. Let me tell you something. You don't want to have to think about it because you would have to go through the learning curve of creating a new habit or two in your life in order to be well and continue to return back to that state of balance when you move from it. This seems like a lot of work and on the flip side, boring. You are wrong. It is empowering, stabilizing, intelligent and enlivening to take responsibility. At the very least, you can't make those choices for less than you are worth and blame anything else outside of yourself for your situation. This is an excellent stage of progress.
The next stage of progress is one in which you actually begin to change your behavior. This usually starts with a purging and a staunch mission of, "not ever doing it that way again!" This quickly pushes people back into old habits because trying to kill something off only makes it stronger (just like a dandelion!) Soon from the back and forth effect you will give yourself, you will find yourself feeling crazy. This is normal. You are beginning to listen to your heart, maybe for the first time...and yet you still hear the old tape playing too. One voice feels old, familiar and safe; the other voice feels fresh, exciting, right, but iffy.
Eventually you will seek serious help because two conflicting voices in your head hurts. Maybe you will decide you need to go on Prozac, or maybe you will decide to seek out an alternative medicine specialist. Maybe you will see a psychic or maybe you will see a shrink. Maybe you will begin to look around at who is in your area and what resources surround you that you were previously blind to. And, at some point, hopefully in this lifetime, you will learn to listen only to the Highest Promptings moving through you. There is wild medicine out your back door, wise men and women living down the road, alternative practitioners who can offer you a holistic approach to wellness and waking up to the Higher Voice.
It is all related. Maybe you think your body and its experiences are separate from your soul. On one level it is true. But if you are making choices that are not in alignment with what your soul came here to fulfill; your dharma, your destiny, you will get sick. It may start with a sore throat or a leg cramp or you may get slam-basted with cancer. It's all just energy showing you were you can love yourself more...where you can line up with your destiny and wake up more.
The good news is that you have allies all around you. Seek them out. Meditate on them revealing themselves to you. They are talking to you always. Maybe you need to meet a human friend before you can hear them. Yes, I am talking about the plants, lovies! Sit down in your back yard, chew on a red clover blossom (provided you are not spraying all those lovely weeds with poisons,) and LISTEN.
How does all of this tie into what my opening quote is? Well, become your own "wellness coach" or find people in your community to guide you along. Prevention is the key. And if health care "for all" is something you think our world needs, well, do something about that too rather than complaining and worrying over it. Take into consideration that you have it within you to be healthy and whole and holy (whatever this may mean to you.) In fact, live on the wild side and live life this way for a while. See what the quality of your life turns out to be.
Look at these two archetypes, Hygieia, Greek goddess of good health and Asklepios, the Greek god of medicine. These exist within each of us. Find them. Hear them. Trust them. Connect with them in others.
And...

Even if you have been living under a rock or under the enchantment of as many pharmaceuticals as you could hold, you will have noticed the very large upsurge of cleansing energy going through EVERY darkened corner of your life. Wow. The month of July just flew by. Here in Traverse City we had the Cherry Festival and the Film Festival. Hope you had the opportunity to have some fun at these events.
I revisited the word Service and what it means to me by volunteering at the Film Festival. So far it’s been great. I got to meet many new people and learn to appreciate how much this event brings to this great city.
Several years ago my son got me a small stain glass plaque with a colorful butterfly on it and the word Transform. I looked at it today and realized how much I have transformed over the years. I used to feel like I was wearing several masks, each one hiding a different layer of myself. Slowly I have revealed myself, like coming out of a cocoon. If any of you are relating to this story please know that there is Hope and Love for you to be all that you can be.

O Opportunity P Peace of mind E Express yourself. L Listen to your heart O Be Optimistic V Visualize your dreams E Easy Honor yourself with the truth. Use the opportunities that come your way to advance you desires. Allow you mind to be peaceful. Express yourself to the world. Others don’t know what you want unless you tell them. Listen to your heart. It knows you so well. Be Optimistic. Anything is possible. Visualize your dreams. It helps to make them real. And most of all remember, make it easy. Release the struggle that says to you that you’re not good enough. Yes you are. You have Hope and Love on your side.
