The Rune for May is: Perth: Initiation     As we begin May, we are all experiencing a Mercury Retrograde influence until the 11th. For many people, the idea of Mercury Retrograde is a negative, befuddling and difficult influence that makes it a poor time to sign contracts and a likely time to have your favorite electronics break. Interestingly, many people have the same feeling for Initiations… They think of them as times of testing and detoxing… not much fun! To me, Mercury Retrograde is a wonderful period which supports our success with meditation, contemplation, prayer and personal inner journeys. And to me, Initiations are about locking in the knowledge that we have achieved up to this moment in time and preparing ourselves for new growth and experience. Yahoo! And Perth, the rune for May, predicts that we will all be offered an Initiation this month… and from there we start on new paths into a previously unknown future… What would you like that future to look like? And we do not mean that in a snotty (I’m all that) kind of way.  We simply mean for you to once and for all accept yourself as the truly beautiful and perfect creation of the One.  We tell you that you are powerful and you stammer and hide your face (no, no, not me).  Then we tell you that you are unconditionally and eternally loved and you immediately remember everything you feel you’ve done wrong.  What do we have to do, HIT YOU WITH A ROCK?   Alrighty then, here comes the rock.  LAPIS LAZULI.   Doesn’t that just scream classy?  Lapis was once the stone of Egyptian Royalty.  Death was the penalty for anyone else having or wearing it, unless it was gifted to you by the King God. 

 

The darkest blue of the midnight sky, shot through with precious veins of gold. Sometimes dark, sometimes light (just like you) but always containing that hidden vein of gold.  Lapis quickly relieves any stress your under.  It blankets your aura and your heart with my deep serenity as you step into your spiritual persona.  Lapis will protect you from anything that is not for your highest spiritual good.  It quickly blocks and returns any negativity send your way.  It will bring perfect harmony to your emotional, physical and spiritual bodies because when they are out of balance with each other, depression happens.  I can also help you stand strong and secure when speaking your truth.  My energy will help you stay fully attuned to source, leaving you no doubts about the clarity of your connection.  The truth will no longer scare you as you will clearly see and hear what’s being relayed to you.  Free of doubts, what wonders could you achieve?   Having trouble expressing your feelings to the ones you love?  Lapis helps you express yourself freely and clearly while removing any emotional hooks.  And truly my darlings, it time for most of you got off the martyr train.  There is never a good reason to be treated cruelly and suffering is definitely optional.

As we open the door to May and say Welcome to Spring in Michigan, we begin the month with Mercury in retrograde.

 

A planet in ‘retrograde’ relates to the rotation of the planet around the Sun as it corresponds to the rotation of the Earth around the Sun.  Both planets (in this case Earth and Mercury), in their individual rotations around the Sun are for a period of time closely aligned.  This causes the planet (Mercury) to appear as though it is ‘stalled’ and not moving.  Therefore, the energy of the planet (Mercury) is paused and not actively moving forward.  This causes a delay in the characteristics of the planet’s energy.

 

Mercury is about forward movement of vehicles (automobiles, air craft, rail, etc); communication (all forms-speech, written word, telepathy); transportation; electrical appliances (including computers); in other words…most of what our lives consist of on a daily basis. 

All of these areas will be affected as they ‘feel’ the effect of the suspension of forward moving energy during the retrograde.

 

This is the Universal plan not to disrupt and aggravate our lives, but to allow us ‘time’ to slow down and be introspective.  This is a time to plan and prepare for the catapult forward at the end of the retrograde.

 

As an example, this is not a good time to ‘sign’ legal papers but rather to formulate and examine legal papers…signing them at the end of the retrograde.  Making plans as we go within… then as Mercury turns direct; implementing the plans.

 

We will certainly travel, write, and talk during this retrograde.  However, take extra precautions in what you are saying; what you are writing to be sure the meaning isn’t garbled.  Take extra time for delays in travel.  Enjoy the time within during Mercury in retrograde.

 

As Mercury is 6° Taurus conjunct (within 7°) of the Sun, this is giving us a slowdown in our frantic, hectic lives to ‘communicate’ (Mercury) with our Souls (Sun), allowing our Higher Selves to communicate with our incarnated Souls.  During these delays, this time of introspection…meet your immortal Soul which dwells within each of us.  Spend time in quiet, serene meditation as you prepare for May, the month of spring…new beginnings.

Now, I did not plan to practice what I preach. I did not intend to sit around feeling bad. I did not set out to prove a point, to you or to myself. This "Part Two" was not on a list of things I'd like to write about in the future. But I must admit, I spent a good portion of this past month in and around feeling bad. I think because in some way, it felt good.

What prompted me to write more on this subject was references in my recent reality about the Dark Side, Shadow Work, and going through hell to get to heaven. Yes! That's it!

I spent much of April being in a low place, like a "shadowland", sitting and waiting for "what next?" Like watching a soap opera and becoming addicted, rushing home at the end of the day (if I bothered to leave the house, that is) to sit on the couch and wait and watch. Then I participated in the reviews and ratings. There has been a whole lot of drama at my house lately, and I got caught up in it (yes, I knew I shouldn't but I did anyway).
