Are You Listening?

With all the energy swirling around, sometimes it can be hard to listen to that small voice within.  Meditation, even if it’s only 10 minutes in the morning, can help to slow things down so you can hear what might be in store for you.  Connecting to that sweet still place within helps to find your path.

It seems as though a lot of us are looking for directions.  Our doingness depends on our beingness.  Are your thoughts fearful or loving about yourself and others?   Who are you being when you are standing at the crossroads of life?  Are you thinking with your heart or your head?  Are you being self-loving?  That seems to still be the path that is being laid out before me.  With each thought and action I take I ask myself is this taking me towards a path where I treat myself with love and respect.

The Rune for September is: Gebo - Partnership... A Gift       As we live our lives, we are each very aware of our own experience. It is almost impossible to deny our own preferences, needs and emotional whirligigs... It is, most often, a very private, personal and individual experience we live, even for those constantly surrounded by people.   In September we are all being asked to take time to honor and work with the group contract that all of humanity shares.   In September 2011 we will be commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9/11. As a globally connected group we can return to the emotional terror and the physical horror of those events, or we can dedicate our commemorative time to the healing of the fear and terror that were spawned that day. The Rune called Gebo suggests that we can partner in this healing... We can feel gratitude for all the Souls who volunteered to participate that day... And we can flow unconditional love and universal harmony and peace to all of humanity... And heal the fear.   On September 11, I will be teaching a Reiki 2 class and that class will be dedicated to this partnership... And the gift?  Humanity’s focus will make the gift promised by the Rune, Gebo, either fear or love... I choose love... And you?   (Reference book: The Book of Runes, by Ralph Blum   The card from The Faerie’s Oracle, by Brian Froud for September is: Gloominous Doom - Self-defeat, Self-pity, Self-destruction, Taking care of ourselves     It is always interesting to see how often the Rune and the Oracle Card that I choose for this column work together... We are being urged to clean up our act and to think (and speak) happy thoughts’.. And Gloominous Doom wants us to understand that every negative and fearful thought and word will only serve to defeat ourselves.   Add to that the understanding that we are fast approaching galactic center (12/21/2012)... The end of the Mayan calendar... The fulfillment of so many prophecies... And the manifestation of every thought which we each hold and repeat is now speeding up and strengthening.   I believe that this card is here to underline the message of the above  Rune... If we focus all our energies on the fear and terror of 9/11... If we concentrate on the scary economy and the bizarre business climate... If we contemplate our illness rather than our health, we are wallowing in the energies of Gloominous Doom...   And if we are celebrating our global partnerships, feeling gratitude for the wealth we have, loving the health that exists in our wondrous bodies (even if it is only in your big toe!)... Then we are taking care of ourselves and our partners in this vast group contract. Great times are not only approaching but are here! Your focus of thought, word, emotion and action aim you at the future you will soon be living. As often happens, it comes back to one of the great quotes of all time:  If not you, who? As with Gaia, we also see you adjusting according to the changes that are taking place on earth.  No longer are you so frightened by the many unusual events you hear about because you are beginning to understand what is going on.  This understanding is adding to a world consciousness from which all mankind can then draw.  Thus your awakening is helping others to awaken--it puts these higher ideas of truth into a universal bank so to speak, that others may draw upon should they choose. 

 

The new energies resonate with peace, calm, and joy and are not of anxiety or frustration.  Those who are used to functioning solely from lower frequencies will have a hard time being in joy and comfort.  But just try it, you will like it.  As an individual becomes comfortable within themselves, they no longer need drama and extremes in order to feel alive. 

 

Everyone is releasing old memories, old ideas, old hurts and old beliefs.  Most can easily clear in a general way, but those bigger pockets of energy buried deep from this or other lifetimes must come to a conscious level to be released. Your job is not to pull painful emotions or beliefs back into your consciousness by saying "Oh I am this" or "I am that"-claiming them for your personal self, but your job is to allow their release, choosing to let them go. These never were yours, but reflect an old state of consciousness you are now leaving.

 

Speak to your cells and tell them that it is time to release all that is old and finished. Inform them that they will never again need to experience a particular painful energy.  Cellular memory holds fear from any and all terrifying events of past lifetimes; memories that you are not consciously aware of.  You sense it when you react to certain events or ideas in ways you do not fully understand.  Perhaps you were burned at the stake for being a healer and even though you are drawn to healing now, a part of you may shy back and prevent you from pursuing it.--this is cellular memory.  When you speak to your cells, they hear you, there is a cellular consciousness. 

 

One way or another, most of mankind is now in the process of releasing any and everything that is of the old energy simply because it cannot ascend with you.  This is the reason you may often feel sick or tired; ridding yourselves of all that would impede your journey is intense work.

 

We send love and encouragement to all for we understand that this is indeed a difficult time for many and especially those who have chosen to stay in the old--and who in their ignorance, are trying desperately to recreate that which is dissolving.  Everything is energy, which can be of a lower resonance (untruth) or higher resonance (truth/light).  Ascension is your free will choice. 

 

You who have chosen ascension are getting everything you need to bring it about even though it may seem at times that you are being overwhelmed with "opportunities".  Ask yourself in the midst of some crisis; "What do I believe that is making me feel this way"?  This allows you a glimpse into your belief system and will enable you to become aware of and then release all that no longer serves you. 

 

Trust that you are getting guidance. Listen to your intuition, and rest in Center at all times,

Hello Rocketes and Rockhounds 

  

This month’s rock story is going to be a little different.  This one is hopefully going to show you why I believe so much in the power of rocks!  Long before I ever heard of Rock or Earth Divas, I had the stories of my mammah and yes that’s spelt right.  It’s the southern version of your mother’s mother.  My mam taught me about my earth and spirit families.  She told me of how God & Goddess placed everything we would need to walk this earth happily in places we could find them.  Some treasures were placed in the sea.  Others in the rocks and plants that live here with us.  These mam explained were our earthy nature cousins (different but still family). 

 

So to me it’s always been natural to place a Smokey Quartz against my cheek for a toothache or big a piece of rose quartz against my heart when no matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t feel the love.  I held on to a Blue Topaz because when I was little there were no Aqua Auras to connect me to the angels.  Honey Calcite would make the sun come out again when my rotten little brother broke my favorite GI Joe. 

 

So when I went on a glorious weekend to the U.P., I was not surprised by the blessings the rocks and earth gave me.  My sister friends and I went to visit a waterfall.  Now just a little background to add to the beautiful gift we received.   Let me just say that a lot of the conversations from all of us in the car were about our children, what they do, what we wish for them and how they can make us love them even in the midst of wanting to sell them to gypsys! We didn’t talk about them the whole time but their antics did receive a good bit of our attention. So by time we reached the waterfall some of us were drooping and some were thinking about diving in and not coming out! 

 

 

After sitting and letting the sound of the water and the smell of the air soothe me, I chose to let it go and I asked the Earth Mother to give me a sign that I had chosen right and was still a good mom. And if by chance I asked if she would show me her face. Now we had been here for a while and I had looked at these rocks a lot as I let the water run over my feet, but I didn’t see this until I asked.  If you look at the first picture you will clearly see the serene and loving face of the Mother. 

 

 

When you look at the second, you will see the careworn one of the crone to the left. The maiden you can barely see but that’s ok. It was not she we needed to see that day.  I can only speak for myself how accepted and loved I felt looking at the Mother. And can only say how mind and heart quieted at the careworn look of the Grand Old Lady. The earth doesn’t love us? It’s just rocks and dirt? I- KNOW!   Neither of those statements is true. I hope when you look at them you are able to capture the love and healing that I felt that day.

 NOW Practice Now

At this moment, I am practicing writing, typing, letting the words flow through me, and listening for a customer to enter the Higher Self Bookstore. Of course, we all know you cannot do more than one thing at a time. I like to think I can, that I’m a fabulous multi-tasker, but in reality – one thing at a time. (Excuse me; I need to peek in on the front of the store.)

 

Ok, where was I? Yes, practicing. I had the honor of meeting Dan Millman, author of The Way of the Peaceful Warrior, among many other just as wonderful books. He presented me with a copy of his latest book, The Four Purposes of Life. I know what you’re thinking, another book on the purpose of life. Well, this one intrigued me, and I read it over the next two days. (Oh, there goes the phone.)

 

The big AHA for me in this book was a way to be in the now, to experience the present moment – by practicing. Whatever I am doing in any moment, practice that! (I really should be cleaning the bathroom; I’ll do it in a minute.) Practice doing the dishes, practice typing, practice taking a shower, practice, practice, practice! (Oh, now I have to go to the bathroom! Be right back. Unless I get busy, in which case I’ll be back as soon as I can.)

 

Ok, I’m back, and practicing sitting in this chair. Now I’m practicing talking to you! Yes, I’ve been poking a little fun at trying to do several things at one time and getting interrupted, physically and mentally. But I gotta tell you, when I truly focus on practicing what I’m doing, I am in the Now. Another benefit of practicing what I’m going, I learn way to do it better! That’s what practicing was always all about, wasn’t it?
